‘Use cow dung paint in schools’

RAIPUR: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Saturday called for painting the government school buildings with 'eco-friendly' paint manufactured from cow dung.

The Self-Help Groups of women are manufacturing paints from cow dung in Rural Industrial Park (RIPA) in Gauthans.

Baghel after inauguration of exhibition was inspecting the products manufactured by SHGs after opening the exhibition before the Collectors and SPs conference at New Circuit House, here.

He sought details of different varieties of products like paint made from cow dung, cookies, pickles, and household items and artwork made from bamboo.

The exhibition has a diverse variety of products like milk products, spices, scented incense sticks, LED bulbs from Mahasamund district and soap, cookies, and candles from Raipur district, Kosa silk sarees, kurtis, salwar suit cloth from Janjgir-Champa. Coconut cold press oil, ‘tikhur’ milk shake and spices from Kondagaon, ragi, spices, and bell metal products of Bastar have also been displayed here. Products manufactured from banana fiber by Bemetara district, ragi cookies,dry fruits, pickles, manufactured by Dantewada, paint made from cow dung, plastic bags for packing vermicompost have been prepared by Kanker Gauthans are also exhibited here. Collectors and other officials of all the districts observed and appreciated the local products made by different districts.
