RAIPUR: Chhattisgarh Women’s soft tennis team won the bronze medal after being beaten by Gujarat in the semi-final of the 36th National Games, Gujarat on Saturday.
Megha Banjare and Sanjana Tank defeated Gujarat's Ritvi and Punarnava 4-4 (7-5) in the first doubles match. Earlier, they had defeated the second seeded team of MP by 1-0.
The Gujarat team fought back to win the team event by 4-4 (7-2) in tie break to reach the final. The Chhattisgarh team had to be content with the bronze medal.
Chhattisgarh so far has won eight medals including two gold, three silver and three bronze.
