Special campaign for legal awareness till Nov 13

RAIPUR: Justice D.Y. Chandrachud, Executive Chairman of National Legal Services Authority (NALSA), New Delhi and the designated Chief Justice, Supreme Court virtually launched a special Campaignon ‘Empowerment of citizens through legal awareness, outreach and Haq Hamara Bhi Toh Hai @75’. The campaign began on November 1 organised across the state and conclude on November 13. The District Legal Services Authorities will implement it.  Executive Chairman of Chhattisgarh State Legal Services Authority, Justice Goutam Bhaduri and Chairman of High Court Legal Services Committee, Justice Sanjay S. Agrawal organized a virtual meeting with the District Judges/Chairmans, Secretaries, Family Court Judges, Chief Judicial Magistrates of all District Legal Services Authority for implementing the scheme. The 13-day campaign will be held in each Panchayat. Various types of rallies, competitions, workshops, National Lok Adalat will be organized.

Similar events will be also held in each jails of the state. The panel lawyers, paralegal volunteers, officers of the Legal Services Authority and the members of the constituted team will meet each of the prisoners detained in the jail. They will seek complete information regarding the case, and pave the way for providing proper help and advice to them.  Justices called for a maximum number of cases to be resolved through Lok Adalat, cases of juveniles in conflict of law, detained by Juvenile Justice Board and all types of negotiable cases pending in courts.  It was also asked to organize a mega legal awareness camp, awareness programmes, rallies and out reach activities on November 09 to mark Legal Services Day. The Justices underlined the need of sensitivity and security in carrying out outreach activities at Naxal affected areas of the state. It should be done with the cooperation of the police administration.
