RAIPUR: As part of repair and maintenance of roads in Chhattisgarh, the work at Keshkal valley road (NH-30) is in progress. Heavy vehicles have been prohibited. An alternative route has been provided.
Keshkal Valley road is considered as the 'Gateway of Bastar region'.
Kondagaon collector Deepak Soni on Friday inspected the quality of repair work being undertaken, an official communication said.
The repair work is being undertaken and monitored by National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) officers. Kondagaon Collector Deepak Soni conducting on foot inspection from turning three to seven, called for concreting the sides of road for water flow and outlet.
He asked officials to put information boards, reflector mirrors, markings on the road, indicator radium as part of safety guidelines at all the turns of Keshkal valley.
Soni said already the movement of heavy goods vehicles except buses and small four-wheelers has been banned at Keshkal Ghat from November 4 to 11. An alternate route has been earmarked for the movement of these heavy goods carriers.
