CG News: 1000 villages in Chhattisgarh to be painted blue

RAIPUR: As part of World Children’s Day week long celebrations commencing on November 14 (Children’s Day-India), 1,000 villages of Chhattisgarh will be painted blue.

The event is part of the global campaign #GoBlue, to mark World Children’s Day (November 20). With participation of children, ‘Bal Sabhas’ and ‘Bal Olympics’ will also be organized in these villages, an official communication said.

A reels or short video competition based on social media is also being organized which is open to all.

Children to ‘take over’ offices campaign will be held where they will be visible in offices like that of District Collector, Superintendent of Police, editors of media houses, leaders, sarpanches of gram panchayat, and celebrities.

A joint event by Chhattisgarh Police and UNICEF will highlight child-friendly police station initiatives on November 14.

Dr Charan Das Mahant, Speaker of Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly will launch a Child-friendly gram panchayat initiative in Jogra village of Shakti district on November 16.

In private schools in Raipur, a sports festival for children will be organized in 75 schools in 10 sporting events including local games in 3 categories on November 20.

Anuj Sharma, UNICEF Celebrity Advocate will host a musical event celebrating children of Chhattisgarh at the culmination event on November 20.
