RAIPUR: Diabetes check up and awareness events were held at Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Memorial Medical College Hospital and Raipur District Hospital to mark the World Diabetes Day on Monday.
Head of Department, Department of Medicine & Diseases OF Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Hospital, Dr Devpriya Lada said this year the theme is ‘Access to Diabetes Education’. Due to which the emphasis has been laid to create awareness among people regarding the metabolic disorder. Post Graduate students were trained to recognise the symptoms of diabetes and commencement of the treatment.
At District Hospital Pandri, Raipur a special camp was organised to create awareness and medical check-up.
Dr. Mithilesh Chowdhary, Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) Raipur said as part of ‘World Diabetes Day’ a free diabetes check-up and awareness program was held at all government health centres in the district. Free diagnostic facility was extended to the patients.
Dr. P.K. Gupta, Civil Surgeon, District Hospital Pandri, Raipur said that all people above 40 years of age arriving at hospital are being tested for diabetes and high blood pressure. Free medicines are being provided.
