RAIPUR: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Tuesday taking cognizance of media reports extended all medical and financial assistance to thirteen-month-old Harsh Dehre having undergone brain tumour operation.
Harsha, the thirteen-month-old son of Balakram Dehre, a resident of Kawardha, was suffering from brain tumour. He has had a successful operation at AIIMS Hospital, Raipur. He is now undergoing chemotherapy, an official communication said.
Due to financial constraints, Harsh's parents had taken to street vending by putting a tea stall near the hospital. But it was not enough to take care of all expenses of Harsh and their own survival.
Based on the reports, the Chief Minister asked Raipur District Collector Dr Sarveshwar Bhurre to intervene and extend all assistance.
The two-member team of Chief Medical and Health Officer Mithlesh Chaudhary and Raipur Municipal Commission Mayank Chaturvedi conducted an inquiry and submitted a report to the Collector. Harsh was shifted to the infant ward at Urban Community Health Centre near the Science College, here.
Raipur district administration will take care of the boy's travel to AIIMS Hospital for undergoing chemotherapy.
The district administration has also provided financial help to Harsh's parents for medicines and other needs.
