DONGARGARH: Strict monitoring of bordering areas have been ordered, as paddy is likely to be smuggled to Chhattisgarh. With bumper paddy crops in the state the procurement is underway, said Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Wednesday.
Congratulating journalists on National Press Day, Baghel said this kharif season has a bumper paddy crop. There is a possibility that paddy from neighbouring states be smuggled and sold. Vigil has been ordered.
He said the state-wide direct public interaction (Bhent Mulaqat Abhiyan) has been eye opener as it is providing the feedback from the general public on implementation of various government schemes.
With the basic objective of providing employment to the people, various schemes are being implemented. Similar steps have been taken for the health and education sectors, he said.
He said with work in hands of people, it can bring changes in their lives. It would empower them economically. As part of it, the Gauthans in the villages have been made job oriented centric centres. Funds of Rs 2 crore each has been given to Rural Industrial Park (RIPA). It would be utilised for employment generation and production activities.
The products manufactured from these centres are being provided market and facilities for sale. Millet and Tamarind Processing Plant will be established. The products will be sold in other states as well.
Citing pollution levels at New Delhi, Baghel said the farmers donating the hay should be honoured. They are playing a role by not polluting the environment by burning stubble. Awareness should be created to bring sensitivity towards the environment.
On the reservation issue, the Chief Minister said that a special session of the Vidhan Sabha has been called on December 1 and 2.
