RAJNANDGAON: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Wednesday said there has been encouraging public enthusiasm, as the government has been able to reach out to the people with the schemes. Complaints about the roads were received.
Baghel told the media that during direct public interaction (Bhent Mulaqat) in 43 assembly constituencies, the response has been encouraging. The schemes are reaching the targeted beneficiaries. There were some complaints on the roads. The officials have been asked to undertake the repair before December.
On Tuesday, farmers’ had donated hay. The example will encourage other farmers to donate it to Gauthans, he said.
To a query, he said like the installation of Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) in the Rajnandgaon tehsil office and sharing of officers’ mobile numbers, it should be replicated in other tehsils. It will bring transparency in the work.
On youth and jobs, Baghel said Rs 600 crore has been allocated for investment in Gauthan’s Rural Industrial Park through rural entrepreneurs. Around 300 parks will come up.
There is enormous potential for young entrepreneurs. As part of enhancing skills of youth, the old trades of Industrial Training Institute (ITI) are being replaced by new ones. An understanding has been reached with Tata Group for imparting training.
He said with the state government’s farmer-friendly initiatives, the migration of youth to cities has decreased. Now, villages stimulate the urban economy by being economically active.
The value addition of Kodo Kutki is being done. Surguja processes ‘Javaphool’ (a variety of rice), providing good prices to the farmers.
Welcoming the suggestion of providing e-rickshaws to self-help groups, Baghel said it is a good one. It can be used to carry people to the medical college.
The culture is being persevered by hosting events. The refund of Rs 15 crore has been given to 19,000 chit-fund investors. A total of Rs 7 crore has been sanctioned for beautification of Rajnandgaon city, he said.
