Intensive campaign for TB, leprosy patients from Dec 1

RAIPUR: The Health and Family Welfare department, Government of Chhattisgarh will conduct an intensive campaign to identify Tuberculosis (TB) and leprosy patients from December 1.

Secretary, Health and Family Welfare Department, Prasanna R in a guidelines on the campaign to all the district collectors states the Health Department team will go door-to-door to identify potential patients of both these diseases, an official communication said.

It states that treatment will be made available to those found positive after examining the potential patients.

The campaign will be conducted in two phases. Except for the districts of Narayanpur, Sukma, Bijapur and Dantewada, in all other districts, the first phase campaign will be held from December 1 to December 21.

The campaign will begin in districts of Narayanpur, Sukma, Bijapur and Dantewada of Bastar division, from January 4 to January 25, 2023.

The second phase will commence from January 2 to 17, 2023 in all districts. On the basis of symptoms, the TB tests will be conducted in all private hospitals, nursing homes, private practitioners and chemists.

The identified TB and leprosy patients name will be entered into the portal. It would help in monitoring the patients’ treatment and their progress. The hospitals will keep separate records of TB and leprosy patients.
