RAIPUR: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Monday said that Godhan Nyay Yojana has become the mode for fulfilling the small dreams of villagers. He was addressing a virtual event for transfer of funds to the accounts of the beneficiaries of Godhan Nyay Yojana at his residence office here, an official communication said. He made online transfer of Rs 5.99 crore to the accounts of beneficiaries against the cow dung procured from December 1 to 15 period. He said with procurement of cow dung from cattle herders, villagers, farmers and labourers, it had become a source of additional income for them. They are utilising it for fulfilling their small dreams. A total of Rs 380 crores have been paid to the beneficiaries of the scheme since launch. The villagers during direct public interaction had said that the additional income received are being utilised for their children's education, buying ornaments, two wheelers and developing agricultural land, he said. On appeal made to donate hay, farmers had donated 5 lakh quintals of hay in Gauthans. The paddy harvesting work is almost over in the state. Those hay lying on the field of many farmers should also be brought to Gauthans, he underlined. Appreciating self-reliant Gauthans, he said they are procuring cow dung using their own funds. It is a change. The officials should make efforts to make the Gauthans self-supporting and permit construction of sheds as per demand. Agriculture Minister Ravindra Choubey said Gauthan in villages have become centres of livelihood oriented activities.
