RKC holds annual celebration

RAIPUR: Chhattisgarh Governor Anusuiya Uikeywas chief guest of the annual event and 127th Annual Prize Giving function ‘Day -2’ organized at Jashpur Hall of Rajkumar College, Raipur on Thursday. The event began with Board Members, Staff and Students worshipping the deities at Panchdev Mandir. Devotional songs were sung. The Governor was accorded a welcome as she was escorted by 13 horses in a ceremonial manner and grand style, from the Gate to Jashpur Hall, the venue. She was introduced to the Members of the General Council. President of the General Council, T.S. Singh Deo gave the welcome address. Lt Col. Avinash Singh read out the Annual Report highlighting the achievements of the students. It was followed by the Prize Distribution Ceremony with the Governor giving away the prizes. Chairman, managing Committee Raja T.C. Deb delivered a vote of thanks. The Governor also inaugurated the Art and Craft Exhibition. It was followed by PT display the equestrian team displayed Standing Salute and Ten pegging, Khelega India toh Khilega India by Rajkumar College Boarding House and Priyadarshini Girls' Boarding House students,. Karate, Aerobics, Gymnastics and Horse Riding Show. The evening marked the cultural programmes which includes Vadya Vrind (School Orchestra by Senior Section), Soulful Odyssey (Dance by Class IV & V), Haryanvi Folk Dance celebrating harvest(Dance by IV & V), Secret of Seven Sisters (Dance by Class VII), Chronicles of Prithviraj Chauhan (Dance by Class IX), Chhattisgarhi Dance – Sanskriti Aur Viraasat (Dance by PGBH),  Retro –Bollywood (Dance by Class XI Boys - Day scholar, Kalankshi – Beyond the Face& Body (Dance by Class XI Girls – Day scholar), Friendship Ship – Dance byClass Boys XI – Boarders and  Rock Band(Junior School), said Shivendra N.S. Deo, Vice Principal, Rajkumar College.
