RAIPUR: Chhattisgarh Tourism Minister Tamradhwaj Sahu on Friday said the inauguration of Karma Ethnic Resort, adds to another link in the expansion of tourist facilities in Mainpat. He was addressing the event after the public dedication of Karma Ethnic Resort and Johar Motel Sontrai organized at Kamleshwarpur in Mainpat on Friday. Food and Civil Supplies Minister Amarjeet Bhagat was also present. The resort has been constructed at cost of Rs 21 crore under Swadesh Darshan scheme. Sahu said with the opening of the resort, tourists will stay here, which will give a boost to home stays in Mainpat. It would help the local people to gain employment in different sectors including handicrafts. He said Chhattisgarh Tourism Board is making continuous efforts to enhance tourism facilities. The state has envisaged such a tourism policy where it has been given an industry status. Food and Civil Supplies Minister Amarjeet Bhagat said it has added a new chapter of tourism at Mainpat. The area has retained and preserved its greenery, culture and heritage. He underlined the need for improving the access road to all the tourist points. Atal Shrivastava, Chairman, Chhattisgarh Tourism Board said that Mainpat is also called Shimla of Chhattisgarh. A tourism package in the form of a circuit of three nights and four days will be prepared. It would connect Raipur to Satrenga, Mainpat and Jashpur.
