CG NEWS: State youth have access to skill development: CM

More than Rs 112 crore paid so far as the unemployment allowance

RAIPUR (CG): Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Monday said that youth of the state now have access to skill development training as well as job opportunities in the state.

He was addressing the online event of transfer of Rs 31.71 crore to 1,22,625 beneficiaries as the fourth instalment under Unemployment Allowance Scheme, at his residence office, here.

State government in the last four months of April, May, June and July has transferred Rs 112.43 crores to the beneficiaries.

The Chief Minister symbolically gave the job offer letters to the beneficiaries having completed the skill development training.

Baghel said it is a priority to connect the youth of the state with employment. Consistent and consolidated efforts are being made to make it happen.

He said that a MoU for a project worth Rs 1,188.36 crore for modernization of 36 ITIs of the state has been signed. Youngsters will be provided training in 06 new technical trades as well as 23 short term courses. On completion of the project, around 10,000 youth every year, will be made employable for various industries.

He added that direct interaction with youth have given an opportunity to learn about the hopes, aspirations and opinions of the youth regarding their future and on the development of the state.

With the aim of providing maximum employment to the youth, recruitment for 41,000 government posts is in progress. We have fulfilled our promises to the youth.

He said that the previous government had distributed Rs 98 crore as unemployment allowance in 13-14 years. We have distributed more than 112 crore as unemployment allowance in four months.

Deputy Chief Minister T.S. Singh Deo said that the state government has taken into account the interest of all the sections of the state.
