RAIPUR: Visually impaired Ku. Ishwari Nishad of Chhattisgarh has qualified for the Asian Para Athletics Games to be held in Hangzhou, China from October 22.
Social Welfare Minister Anila Bhendia has congratulated her. She had been felicitated at the state level for her excellent sports.
Visually impaired Kumari Ishwari Nishad has won gold medals in consecutive National, International Para Athletics Championship competition. She participated in the Final Selection Para Athletics Asian Games Trial at Nehru Stadium New Delhi in the last week of July 2023.
She stood 1st in India and 5th in Asian rank in 200m race. Also, she finished second in the 400 meters race and stood seventh in the Asian rankings. She is an alumnus of Higher Secondary School for the Blind, Karmapatpar (Baghbahra).
