RAIPUR: The General Administration Department, Government of Chhattisgarh on Thursday issued a circular to celebrate the ‘International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples’ on August 9 at all district headquarters.
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel will release the second instalment of ‘Chief Minister Adivasi Parab Samman Nidhi Yojana’ of Rs 2.81 crore to 5,633 panchayats of Scheduled area. Each Panchayat will be given a second instalment at the rate of Rs. 5,000. The scheme envisages release of Rs 10,000 annually for organising tribal Teej-festivals in the village.
The circular asks to ensure participation of local people's representatives, three-tier panchayat representatives including Panch-Sarpanchs of Scheduled areas. Forest Rights Letter, Community Forest Rights Letter and Forest Resource Rights Letter will be distributed. Loan books will be provided to individual forest rights holders. Under the Forest Rights Act, action will be taken to declare the identified villages as model villages according to the target.
An organization or a special person who has done excellent work for the benefit of Scheduled Tribes in the district should be honoured, rewarded. Certificate of Honor can also be provided at the local level. The beneficiaries should be extended benefits as covered under different schemes of various departments.
