RAIPUR: Kalinga University recently hosted a Garba night at the University campus, bringing together a group of Indian and foreign students for the night of traditional Raas Garba celebrations/ festivities. Dr. Jasmine Joshi, Dean of Students' Welfare, and faculty members coordinated the event. The event left a lasting impression on everyone in attendance.
The celebration began with the worship of Goddess Durga, which symbolized the auspiciousness of the occasion. The cultural significance of the event contributed to theparticipant’s intercultural awareness and appreciation.
Students actively participated in the traditional dance as the loud and rhythmic Garba beats filled the air.The lively ambiance and enthusiasm of the participants created an atmosphere of togetherness and happiness.From traditional to current Garba tunes, the music accommodated everyone's tastes, ensuring that each student had a memorable and joyful time.
The community spirit was palpable throughout the eventas foreign and Indian students joined together to celebrate their shared love of culture and festivities. The Garba night gave a chance for students from different walks of life to form new friendships and reinforce old ones.
"The Garba night was truly a night to remember," stated Thabo Ma boo, a Kalinga University International Student from Lesotho. The event showcased the rich cultural diversity and brought everyone together in a joyful celebration.
