Raipur, Chhattisgarh: Chhattisgarh Chamber of Commerce and Industries (CCCI) will play a key role in implementation of the Sustainable Agriculture through Holistic Integration (SATHI) project in the state.
Chamber President Amar Parwani said according to the plan, Sathi Bazaar will be established on three to five acres of land at a suitable place in the district headquarters in every district of the state.
Ten thousand women in each district will be formed as farmer producer companies with the help of the State Rural Livelihood Mission for the operation of Sathi Bazaar. The chamber will play a collaborative role in providing local products a place in each partner market, primarily with millets products, he said.
Also, in modern retail outlets, food courts, entertainment zones, agri malls, agricultural support centres’, micro finance, insurance centres’, training centres’, drawer markets, Beauty Parlour, TeleMedicine Centre, Generic Medicine Centre, Sanjeevani Centre, Dairy Federation, Onion Storage Unit, Cold Storage (5000 MT), Mini Theatre and local enterprises and other enterprises will be opened with the help and guidance of Chamber, he added.
He said the "Sathi Project", to be implemented with the cooperation of the Central and State Government, will prove to be a game changer scheme for the farmers and entrepreneurs of the state.
Parwani along with office bearers of CCCI were holding interaction with Director Research Services, Indira Gandhi Agricultural University, Raipur.
Officers from NAFED New Delhi, FIFA Sathi Technopreneurs Private Limited New Delhi, Chhattisgarh State Seed and Agricultural Development Limited, Horticulture. And various officials of Field Forestry Department Raipur, Chhattisgarh State Rural Livelihood Mission Raipur, Chhattisgarh Industry and Commerce Department, Handicraft Board and Sericulture Department were present.
NAFED is a central cooperative of the Government of India. Under the scheme, Sathi markets will be established in every district across India. All these partner markets will be connected to each other through the network.
The Government of Chhattisgarh has appointed Indira Gandhi Agricultural University, Raipur as the lead agency for the implementation of the scheme and Chhattisgarh State Seed and Agricultural Development Corporation Limited, Raipur as the cooperating agency.
For the successful operation of the scheme, a committee has been formed at the state level under the chairmanship of the Agricultural Production Commissioner and in the districts under the chairmanship of the Collector.
It was also decided, representatives of Chhattisgarh Chamber of Commerce will be included in the state and district level committee.
