CG NEWS: No PVTG beneficiary should be deprived of forest rights

RAIPUR, CG: Additional Director of Tribal and Scheduled Caste Development Department, Sanjay Gaur said that there is a need to make efforts on a war footing to provide 100 percent benefit of distribution of Individual Forest Rights Certificates, especially to the vulnerable tribal groups.

He was addressing the two-day workshop under the Prime Minister's Tribal Justice Maha Abhiyan (PM Janman) Scheme organized in the auditorium of Tribal Research and Training Institute, Nava Raipur.

He also highlighted the focus on distribution of Individual Forest Rights Certificates in PVTG areas as well as collection of millets being grown in these areas. In the distribution of individual forest rights letters, more than 23,000 forest rights letters have been given especially to the beneficiaries of PVTG, a vulnerable tribal group. The survey work is going on, soon other beneficiaries will also be given its benefits.

Deputy Commissioner Pragyan Seth said everyone will have to work together to achieve the goals of PM Janman Yojana. Information about infrastructural deficiencies will have to be obtained by conducting surveys in PVTG settlements at the village level, so that these deficiencies can be filled by organizing camps in that area in mission mode.

The PM Janman Yojana was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on November 15, 2023, especially keeping in view the all-round development of vulnerable tribal groups – Baiga, Birhor, Abujhmadia, Kamar and Pahari Korwa.
