Raipur, CG: A two-day workshop on Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation and Basic Life Support organized by Government Physiotherapy College, Raipur was inaugurated on Thursday. It will conclude on January 5.
Director Medical Education Dr. Vishnu Dutt, Dean Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Medical College Dr. Trupti Nagaria and special guest Head of the Department of Respiratory Medicine (Ambedkar Hospital) Dr. R. Panda, and others were present in the inaugural session.
Subject expert Dr. Sumanta Ghosh from New Delhi in his special training session there are cutting-edge techniques including manual hyperinflation, suction, and chest percussion. With these techniques, an attempt is made to expel the mucus accumulated in the lungs through the respiratory tract so that breathing becomes easier and the flow of oxygen increases.
In case of shortness of breath, diaphragmatic breathing should be done, under which the process of breathing becomes efficient by inhaling through the nose, inhaling into the stomach and slowly exhaling through the mouth.
Raising both hands while inhaling through the nose and lowering the hands while exhaling through the mouth, in this way the coordination of breathing with exercise increases the benefits. Neuromuscular electrical stimulation is used to maintain the strength of the body's muscles.
Dr. Pratibha Jain Shah, Head of the Department of Anesthesia, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Medical College, said that with the help of basic life support, a person's life can be saved in time in case of cardiac arrest.
On the second day, training will be given about other methods of physiotherapy.
