Bemetara, CG: Bemetara Collector Ranbir Sharma on Wednesday held a meeting with the representatives of the District Truck Drivers Association in the Disha meeting room of the Collectorate this evening.
He appealed to avoid the rumors being spread regarding the new provisions of the Hit and Run Act. He spoke about the announcement by the State President of Chhattisgarh Drivers Association to cancel the drivers' ‘Quit Steering Movement’ in Chhattisgarh.
He said that the Union Home Ministry has made it clear that before implementing the new law, any decision will be taken only after talking to the representatives of All India Motor Transport Congress. Drivers do not need to be misled or frightened in any way..
Sharma said that the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh has appealed to avoid rumours being spread regarding the new provisions of the Hit and Run Law.
Superintendent of Police Bhavna Gupta said that the drivers have any suggestion to reduce road accidents, share it. Gupta said that soon with the cooperation of all, an eye test of truck drivers will be done. Necessary medicines will also be given free of cost. Awareness programs will also be run for traffic rules, sign boards etc.
