Chhattisgarh to enhance use of IT for good governance

RAIPUR,CG: The Chhattisgarh government will use IT on a large scale for good governance in all important areas, from monitoring of public welfare schemes to financial management, collection of taxes, registration, maintenance and amendment of land records.

The government is going to take concrete initiatives to increase the reach of government schemes to the people and also to make the administration strong and transparent. All these subjects have been included in the government budget. Atal Dashboard has been launched for monitoring public welfare schemes.

On the initiative of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, an intellectual discussion was organized for two days at IIM Raipur with well-known experts of the country. All measures for good governance and fulfilling citizen expectations were discussed. In the budget for the financial year 2024-25, the target is to create a world class IT sector by developing Raipur-Bhilai and surrounding areas as state capital. A provision of Rs 266 crore has been made to encourage the use of.

The target is to establish “Livelihood Center of Excellence” in Nava Raipur, Atal Nagar and “Center of Entrepreneurship” in Durg district. Establishment of incubation centre and BPO to encourage startups. There are also plans to establish an IT park in Nava Raipur ‘Plug and Play’ model will be developed for based employment generation. It will develop new opportunities for economic development and employment generation.

Provisions have been included in the budget for setting up Chhattisgarh Centre for Smart Governance and setting up budget and accounting modules under e-governance in 168 urban bodies of the state. GIS based software will be prepared for property surveys in 47 urban bodies. Integrated Financial Management Information System (IFMIS- 2.0) will be started for daily monitoring of income and expenditure of government funds. Under PM Vani, in the first phase, hot-spot internet facilities will be provided through Wi-Fi in one thousand gram panchayats.

A tribunal will be established for speedy disposal of appellate cases related to Goods and Services Tax.
