‘Wholesale Corridor’will prove to be a milestone: Parwani

RAIPUR,CG: State President of Chhattisgarh Chamber of Commerce and Industries Amar Parwani called on Minister of Finance O.P. Chaudhary highlighting the concept of the largest wholesale corridor of South Central Asia. Minister assured for all assistance.

The Chamber delegation handed over the memorandum to the minister at his official residence. The delegation briefed him in detail the nature of the scheme and the vision of the Chamber. Minister asked NRDA CEO Saurabh Kumar (IAS) to take necessary action.

CCCI President Amar Parwani said that before the minister presentation of the proposed new wholesale corridor concept was made. It will be connected to Swami Vivekananda International Airport, Atal Nagar (Naya Raipur) Railway Station under construction and Bharat Mala Road Project and NH 30. It will be near to which geographically it will be able to supply the demand of Odisha, Maharashtra, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Jharkhand, the bordering states. It will give new height, direction and momentum to the trade of the state, as well as to the entire Chhattisgarh model will be known as a unique and largest business area in India.

It will be a self-centric and well-equipped complex at one place for all types of wholesale trade, which will be conducive uninterrupted operation for 50 to 100 years in the future. This corridor will be available with the best infrastructure for the sale of all goods as per their requirement, along with new employment opportunities, direct and indirect employment will be created for 1.5 to 2 lakh people, with the cooperation of the state government and businessmen. The commitment will also lead to development and change in the standard of living of the rural people of the area, he added.

Parwani further said that about 1100 acres of land has been identified in Nava Raipur Atal Nagar for the construction of the Wholesale Corridor. It will be the country's first environmentally balanced market in which there will be arrangements for solar energy, water harvesting, water recycling and garbage recycling. There will also be intensive tree plantation in the entire area for environmental balance. The proposed market has been classified into different sectors so that the visiting customers do not face any problem in reaching the destination, basic facilities like petrol pumps, banks, ATMs, medical facilities, fire brigade, toilets, resting places for the passengers, food facilities. Stalls, weigh bridge, parking arrangements for trucks and other vehicles, parking arrangements. have also been taken care of. The project will prove to be a milestone in building a developed Chhattisgarh on the lines of developed India.

Parwani said the present applications for about 11,250 shops have come to the Chamber from about 125 business organizations. The number may increase further in future.
