Independence Day Full dress rehearsal held

RAIPUR: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai will hoist the National Flag on August 15 at 9.00 am at the Police Parade Ground of the capital Raipur.

As part of preparation, the full dress rehearsal of the contingents were conducted where the Chief Minister’s security officer as the chief guest hoisted the flag. He inspected the parade and also took the salute of the march past.

This year, Chhattisgarh police bagpiper band squad along with women will be the main Centre of attraction in the festival. State Director General of Police Ashok Juneja, Collector Dr. Gaurav Kumar Singh and S.S.P. Santosh Singh took stock of the arrangements made for the function.

18 platoons will do march past. ADG Vivekananda will be in charge of organizing the entire parade. He will be assisted by DIG D. Shravan, Commanded 3rd Corps Arvind Kujur and 4th Corps CAF Prafulla Thakur. The men and women platoons of Border Security Force, Central Reserve Police Force, Central Industrial Security Force, Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force, Sashastra Seema Bal, Chhattisgarh Armed Forces, Chhattisgarh Police, Jail Police, Men and Women Platoons of Municipal Army and NCC along with the boys and girls platoons, the cavalry troop and police band platoon will also participate in the march past. A platoon of Odisha Police will also participate in the march past as an invited guest platoon in the Independence Day celebrations.

The Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai will also honour police officers with medals and decorations. Indian Police Medal, Police Gallantry Medal, President's Police Medal, Home Defense and Civil Defense Meritorious Service Medal and Director General of Police Award will be given at the ceremony. Along with this, state level awards like Governor Award, Chief Minister Award, Rani Subran Kunwar Award and Veernarayan Singh Award will also be given.

Around 850 school students will give attractive cultural presentations.
