SAIL-Bhilai, ALIMCO Launch Two-Day Camp for Divyang and Senior Citizens in Khadgaon

Mohla-Manpur-Ambagarh Chauki: Reaching out to rural communities with meaningful social support, SAIL-Bhilai Steel Plant’s Iron Ore Mines Group at Rajhara and Dalli, under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, in collaboration with Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO), Jabalpur, inaugurated a two-day screening camp at Gram Panchayat Khadgaon, Development Block Manpur. The camp aims to identify and provide assistive aid equipment to Divyang persons and senior citizens.

The initiative is being supported by the District Administration and the Social Welfare Department, Government of Chhattisgarh. So far, 197 beneficiaries have registered, including 137 from Manpur and 60 from Mohla, who are being examined and assessed for the provision of suitable assistive devices.

The camp was inaugurated by Deputy Collector G.R. Markam (Mohla-Manpur-Ambagarh Chauki) in the presence of Manpur SDM Amit Nath Yogi, Janpad Panchayat President Smt. Pushpa Mandavi, Janpad Member Smt. Shahida Khan, Khadgaon Sarpanch Smt. Ramila Dhurve, Block Medical Officer Dr. Girish Khobragade, and District Panchayat CEO Smt. Bharti Chandrakar.

Representing SAIL-Bhilai’s Mines Group were GM Arun Kumar, DGM Manish Jaiswal, Sr. Manager Rakesh Kumar Thakur, Dy. Manager (CSR) Kamal Kant Verma, and CSR team member Ashutosh Soni. From ALIMCO, Dr. Narendra Kumar joined the proceedings, along with a large number of local villagers.

Addressing the gathering, dignitaries emphasized that such camps significantly improve the quality of life for Divyang persons and senior citizens by providing them with essential mobility and assistive equipment. They commended SAIL-Bhilai and ALIMCO for extending such crucial support directly to rural populations.

During the camp, beneficiaries are being screened for the free distribution of assistive devices, including tricycles, wheelchairs, crutches, hearing aids, folding sticks for the visually impaired, M.S.I.E.D. kits, tripods, tetrapods, cervical collars, knee bases, and more. The selected individuals will soon receive these aids, enabling them to lead their daily lives with greater ease and dignity.
