RAIPUR,CG: The Congress party staged a dharna (protest) at Rajiv Gandhi Chowk in Raipur on Thursday to voice their concerns over rising cement prices. The demonstration was organized by the District Congress Committee (Urban and Rural) Raipur.
The protest saw participation from key Congress figures including State Congress President Deepak Baij, former MLAs Satyanarayan Sharma, Dhanendra Sahu, and Amitesh Shukla, along with Mayor Aijaz Dhebar, former Rajya Sabha Member Chhaya Verma, Rajendra Tiwari, Pankaj Sharma, and other party leaders.
During the protest, Deepak Baij criticized the Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai-led BJP government for its failure to address the surge in cement prices. Baij accused the state government of not taking adequate measures to control the price hike, which he claimed is placing a financial burden on the public.
