RAIPUR,CG,BHARAT: The Government of Chhattisgarh has decided to provide relief for the unregistered factory worker that if they dies due to an accident at the workplace, his dependents will be given an assistance amount of Rs 1 lakh.
The construction workers who work in various areas under Chhattisgarh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board, but due to some reason have not been registered, do not get any kind of financial assistance to their dependents in case of their death at the workplace.
Considering the issue of the workers, on the instructions of Labour Minister and Chairman Chhattisgarh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board, Lakhan Lal Dewangan said the department is now going to make partial amendments in the notification of the Chief Minister Construction Workers Death and Disability Assistance Scheme.
Till now, assistance amount of Rs 1 lakh is given in case of normal death of a factory worker, Rs 5 lakh in case of death due to accident at work place and Rs 2.50 lakh in case of disability due to accident at work place. Now, if an unregistered factory worker dies due to an accident at the workplace, a financial assistance amount of Rs 1 lakh will be given to the dependents.
From January to November, a total of 1,502 construction workers have been given the benefit of the Chief Minister Construction Workers Death and Disability Assistance Scheme. Immediate assistance to the dependents of such factory workers is being provided directly through DBT.
