Government goes for major reforms to investors

RAIPUR, CG (INDIA): In a major step to boost industrial investment, the Chhattisgarh government has introduced significant reforms. Now, investors will receive various necessary approvals and services within a set timeframe. Additionally, several new services have been included under the Chhattisgarh Public Service Guarantee Act, 2011, aiming to speed up industrial development and strengthen investor confidence.

Chief Minister Sai emphasized that making Chhattisgarh the most investor-friendly state in India is a top priority. He noted that industrial growth would not only strengthen the state’s economy but also generate large-scale employment opportunities for the youth. The government is committed to offering investors quick, transparent, and accountable services.

According to the order issued by the State Investment Promotion Board, clear deadlines have been established for several approvals, 60 days for permissions under hazardous and other waste management, 60 days for bio-medical waste management approvals, 30 days for solid waste management approval, and 30 days for construction and demolition waste management permission.

Additionally, permissions for water extraction from rivers or public reservoirs must be granted within 300 days, and certificates confirming the non-availability of water from public agencies will be issued within 90 days.

For the construction sector, a maximum timeframe of 45 days has been set for five stages: approval of building plans, revision of building schemes, permission for demolition and reconstruction, plinth level inspection, and occupancy or completion certificates. Similarly, registration, renewal, and inspection for lifts and escalators must also be completed within 45 days. Startup units can now expect registration to be completed within 45 days as well.

To further ease investor processes, general queries must be resolved within 7 days, and grievances addressed within 15 days through the Investors' Facilitation Center and Investment Promotion Agency.

Chief Minister Sai reiterated that simplifying processes and ensuring timely service delivery are key priorities for the state. He expressed confidence that Chhattisgarh will soon establish a stronger presence on India's industrial map.

The services not previously covered under the Public Service Guarantee Act are now officially notified and in effect under the new order. The initiative is expected to significantly boost Chhattisgarh’s industrial development and economic growth.
