RAIPUR, CG (INDIA): Amity University Chhattisgarh (AUC), Raipur, and EICS Technology Private Limited, Bilaspur, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen ties between academia and industry. The collaboration aims to drive innovation, support joint research, and offer practical learning experiences.
The MoU was signed by Dr. W. Selvamurthy, Chancellor, and
Prof. (Dr.) Piyush Kant Pandey, Vice Chancellor for Amity University
Chhattisgarh, along with Dr. S.N. Swamy, Chief Managing Director, and Hemalatha
N Swamy, Director for EICS, Bilaspur.
After signing ceremony, Dr. W. Selvamurthy, Chancellor, said it would usher a new era of academia and industry mutual relationship. It is a new beginning for the AUC which will take forward steps for mutual growth.
Prof. (Dr.) Piyush Kant Pandey, Vice Chancellor said it is the first time that an industry had taken a proactive initiative to have a relationship with academic institutions. It will go down the history, as both will work together, and derive benefit by pushing overall sustainable development of the country.
Dr. S.N. Swamy, CMD, EICS Private Limited, Bilaspur said the company which is working on green energy will get academic support in form of research and innovation, which will benefit both the institutions, including human resources.
Key elements of the agreement include collaborative research in green technology, energy efficiency, and water conservation. A Centre of Excellence in Green Technology will be established at AUC, supported by EICS through funding and infrastructure development. Joint research grant applications and co-authored publications are also part of the plan.
EICS will provide two fellowships each year for doctoral students at AUC and sponsor an “EICS Chair in Green Innovation & Engineering” with annual funding. A corporate award, will be constituted to be presented at AUC’s convocation, will recognize an exceptional graduate, chosen by a joint committee.
An “AUC-EICS Innovation and Research Fund” will be created with contributions from both sides. Intellectual property generated will be jointly managed, and all publications will credit both partners. Confidentiality and the responsible use of shared information are also emphasized.
Students will benefit from internships, industrial training, and mentorship at EICS facilities, gaining exposure to real-world projects. The company will also support AUC’s placement drives and offer pre-placement training.
Faculty development initiatives will include joint workshops, seminars, and short-term courses. EICS will contribute to curriculum development to better align academic content with industry demands.
To ensure effective implementation, a Joint Steering Committee with equal representation will be formed within a month to monitor progress, manage resources, and address any issues.
The strategic partnership is a significant step in aligning educational outcomes with industry needs and fostering innovation through collaborative efforts.
