RAIPUR: Chhattisgarh forest department on Tuesday seized a pick-up vehicle with pieces of teak plank worth Rs 1.25 lakh on Bhopalpatnam to Tarlaguda road of Bijapur Forest Division.
The department stated that the teak planks were concealed under the vegetable. During questioning more seizure was made from Lingapur village of Bhopalpatnam. Thus, a total of 114 pieces of 1.92 cubic metres were seized.
Action has been initiated against the accused under the Indian Forest Act and the Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act.
