CG NEWS: Take a pledge to make India drug free: Kishore

BILASPUR: Administering oath to all the people to stay away from drugs to make India drug free, Kaushal Kishore, Union Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs on Wednesday urged the youth to keep distance from drug addicts.

 

He was addressing a National Seminar on ‘Awareness on Alcohol Addiction and Drug Abuse Among Youth’ organized by the National Service Scheme Cell at Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya (Central University) under ‘Nasha Mukt Samaj Andolan- Abhiyan Kaushal Ka’.

 

He urged the girls, During Raksha Bandhan and Bhaiya Dooj, all the sisters should have their brothers take a pledge not to consume drugs. The pledge should be a gift from their brothers and relatives.

 

Praising the Swabhiman Thali Yojana of the University, he said a similar scheme for the families who have become destitute due to drugs will be implemented.

He cautioned that drug traffickers are always on the lookout for drug addicts but they do not take drugs themselves. He pointed out an international conspiracy which is going on to introduce drugs into the country to weaken the country.

 

The Union Minister gave his phone number so that the students can join the campaign against drugs. He also called upon all the members of the university to join the drug-free campaign.


He gave the slogan ‘Jan jan ka yeh sandesh, nasha mukt ho Bharat Desh’.

 

Vice-Chancellor Professor Alok Kumar Chakrawal exhorted the students to use their energy and mind in constructive mode. All the parents and teachers should use the positive energy of the youth to cooperate in works related to nation building and social concerns.
