CG NEWS: Notice to units with less than 60 percent target progress

Raipur, CG: Chhattisgarh State Renewable Energy Development Agency (CREDA) Chief Executive Officer Rajesh Singh Rana asked officials to issue notices to those units which have not started the work. They have less than 60% progress against the target. The complaints pending in the call centre should be resolved.

He was reviewing the progress of various projects including Solar Sujala Scheme, Jal Jeevan Mission, and Solar High Mast, Biogas and smooth operation and maintenance of the installed plants at the CREDA head office. All the senior technical officers of the head office were present.

Under the Solar Sujala Scheme, 1,52,926 plants have been installed so far, covering 1,83,511 hectares of agricultural land. Solar Sujala Scheme has become popular for the farmers of remote areas. In the current fiscal year, the work of 5,985 plants is in progress. It has helped to reduce 7 lakh metric tons of carbon emissions every year.

Under the Solar Community Irrigation Scheme, the surface water available in rivers and anicuts is made available for irrigation in the surrounding agricultural lands. Till now, a total of 229 works have been completed benefitting 2,682 farmers and 2814 hectares of agricultural land has been irrigated.

Indira Gaon Ganga Yojana, surface water available in rivers and anicuts are used to fill nearby ponds for the villagers. A total of 33 works have been completed so far, 48 ponds have been filled and 25 works are in progress.

With the aim of providing clean drinking water to every household, under the Jal Jeevan Mission Scheme, CREDA with the public health engineering department has installed 7, 601 solar pumps.  The work of establishment of 367 plants is in progress and instructions have been given to cancel the pending works for 188 surveys and to issue notices to those units at 2,283 sites where work has not been started.
