Ramnami fair filled with echo of ‘Ram-Ram’

Sakti, Chhattisgarh: ‘Ram-Ram-Ram’ continued to be echoed in the Ramnami fair for the second day of Tuesday in Jaijaipur of newly formed district Sakti and village Kurdi of Malkharoda block.

People belonging to the Ramnami community were bringing the message of Lord Ram into everyone's life with love and goodwill by chanting bhajan-kirtan and Ramayana.

Thousands had ‘darshan’ of ‘Jaitkham’, the symbol of Ramnami faith and worshiped here with prayers for happiness and prosperity.

A large number of people including people from nearby places attended the big ‘Bhajan Mela’ and ‘Sant Samagam’ organized by Ramnamis, a community which has special affiliation towards Lord Ram.

The joy and enthusiasm of Ram-Ram remained among the people coming to Kurdi including Jaijaipur. Ramnamis worship their Lord Ram in their own special style. Wearing clothes with Ram-Ram-Ram written on them and wearing a crown with peacock feathers on his head, they can be seen immersed in the depths of faith.

Ramnami Gularam said that our message is that people should live together, love each other and the differences between people in the name of caste should be erased. He said that we and our generations have brought Ram into life.

Dadu Ram, said he has come here with his family and feels special happiness here.

Prakash Das, arrived from Korba, says that when any small stain appears on someone's body, they apply different types of medicines to remove them, some even undergo plastic surgery, but here he has endured the pain in his body. I have also written Ram-Ram throughout my life. This is not a small thing, only the biggest devotees of Ram and those who believe in him can do this. He says that people must visit Ramnamis, because only by seeing them one can understand the truth and the lamp of faith in Ram-Ram burns in the mind.

Elderly man Kholbahara of village Mohtara has Ram-Ram written on his forehead. He said that as soon as he got information about the Ramnami fair in Kurdi, he came to see the Ramnamis. Kholbahara, who has recited Ramayana five times, says that this is a fair of peace and goodwill. After coming here, the life of Ramnamis will inspire you.

On the second day of the fair, a large number of children, women and youth registered their presence. There was a huge crowd in the fair at the food stalls, swings, shops decorated with essential goods and entertainment facilities.
