Raipur, Chhattisgarh, India: Chhattisgarh Deputy Chief Minister and Urban Administration and Development Minister Arun Sao on Tuesday asked all the Chief Municipal Officers and Engineers to conduct a visit to the cleanliness and construction works three days a week.

He was holding review work of all the municipalities of the state and Nagar Panchayats of Bastar, Surguja and Bilaspur divisions.

He asked all the chief municipal officers and engineers to reside in their respective headquarters. Ensure the quality of all construction works and construction materials in case of negligence in work, impose fines on contractors who delay and are negligent in work. Action should also be taken to blacklist them as per rules.

Minister asked to expedite the construction works under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. He reviewed the progress of infrastructure development in municipalities and nagar panchayats, state and centrally sponsored works and those under construction with the funds of the 15th Finance Commission.

He reviewed the status of income and expenditure, status of tax collection, progress of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, cleanliness arrangements and salary payment status in these urban bodies and gave necessary instructions.
