Raipur, Chhattisgarh: The Indian Institute of Management Raipur (IIM Raipur) commemorated the 75th Republic Day of India with a vibrant ceremony marked by stirring speeches, captivating performances, and a renewed commitment to national service.
Prof. Ram Kumar Kakani, Director of IIM Raipur highlighted the significance of the day and emphasized the themes of unity, diversity, and freedom that have been foundational to India's remarkable journey as a modern republic. He then delved into the meaning of “republic” and what it meant to students, particularly those fortunate enough to receive an education from Premium institutes such as IIM Raipur, urging them to embrace their unique roles as responsible citizens.
Prof. Saroj Kumar Pani, Professor of Strategic Management, hailed India as the "oldest young nation," a vibrant democracy standing tall as the fourth largest economy in the world. Prof. Pani urged the students to be responsible towards the nation like they are towards their parents and take ownership of their education, striving for "Karmavaibhav," or excellence in action. He emphasized that the best thing that the students can do is to build their capabilities and take a moment to reflect if they are fulfilling their responsibility towards the nation or not.
The ceremony then showcased the talent and dedication of IIM Raipur's student body. A poignant poem by Parimal Gangurde, a first-year PGP student, offered a moving reflection on the "Autobiography of the Indian Constitution," tracing its fascinating evolution from 1950 to the present. Sparx, the core dance team, further enthralled the audience with their captivating performances.
