RAIPUR,CG: Chhattisgarh Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma on Tuesday underlined the need to expedite the construction work under Prime Minister Awas Yojana (PMAY) in the state.
He asked the officials to prepare an action plan for the systematic development of big villages also. Similarly, under PM Janman Yojana, tribal families should be benefited from all the major schemes including basic facilities in tribal dominated settlements.
It was the poll promise made to the people of state for sanction of the PMAY scheme. After coming to power, 18 lakh houses were sanctioned.
Reviewing it Sharma emphasised on completion of the houses within the time frame through an action plan.
Sharma said that many eligible beneficiaries not able to build houses will be supported through volunteers. The work on all the houses sanctioned in one lot should start. House warming should also happen simultaneously. The beneficiaries of villages far from the banking area should be provided the facility to withdraw money through Bank Sakhi, CSC and mobile banking van of the bank.
The departmental officers briefed that work on 62,577 houses is in progress. On an average, more than 23,000 houses are being built every month. Under Chief Minister Housing Scheme Rural, a target of 47,090 houses has been set, out of which the work of 33,115 houses has been started. Similarly, 689 houses have been sanctioned under Niyad Nelanar Scheme, the work of 384 houses have been completed. 20, 279 houses have been sanctioned under Pradhan Mantri Janman Yojana, out of which 145 houses have been completed.
Sharma approved the drawing design of Mahtari Sadan to be constructed in gram panchayats, which is 2,500 square feet. It will have a verandah, a big hall, kitchen, storeroom and a toilet. Water harvesting will also be done along with tube wells for water. Boundary walls will also be built for the safety of women.
It was asked to hold a Rural Secretariat every week in the Gram Panchayat and in 15 days at the development block level. Officials were also instructed to create a portal for its monitoring.
