CG NEWS: Minister underlines to add new facilities

RAIPUR,CG: Chhattisgarh Forest and Climate Change Department Minister Kedar Kashyap flagged off the rescue vehicle to release spotted deer from Nandanvan Zoo and Safari to Achanakmar Tiger Reserve, Lormi, Bilaspur.

Jungle Safari has given permission to release a total of 150 deer in Achanakmar Tiger Reserve.  A total of 42 deer have been released for the first time.

Minister was on a visit to Nandanvan Zoo and Safari located in Nava Raipur Atal Nagar. During the visit, he discussed the upcoming action plan of the Jungle Safari with the officials of the Forest Department. The Minister laid special emphasis on adding new facilities and various activities in the jungle safari as per the intention of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai.

Kedar Kashyap appreciated the efforts of Nandanvan Zoo and Safari and described it as an important step towards increasing the prey base in Achanakmar. Regarding the relocation of leopards, he said that for the safe habitat of wildlife and their conservation these types of translocation activities are essential.

Achanakmar Tiger Reserve is known for its rich biodiversity and natural habitat. The important initiative is being taken keeping in mind the need to increase the prey base to increase the number of tigers in the Tiger Reserve.

MLA Indra Kumar Sahu, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (HoFF) V Sreenivasa Rao, PCCF (Wildlife) Sudhir Agrawal and other officials were present.
