Amity School of Languages, Amity University Chhattisgarh organized a ‘Seven-Day Faculty Development Programme’

* Deliberations on “Indian Knowledge System: Integral Epistemology and Integrative Approaches”

RAIPUR,CG: Amity School of Languages, Amity University Chhattisgarh organized a Seven-Day Faculty Development Programme on “Indian Knowledge System: Integral Epistemology and Integrative approaches” from 18th to 24th June 2024 on virtual mode. The aim of the FDP was to enhance and reorient the intrinsic knowledge and understanding of the faculty members and research scholars in the field of the Humanities, Social Sciences and Cultural Studies with special reference to the value systems and ancient wisdom embedded in the preternatural classical texts and in different Upanishadic traditions and their contemporary relevance. Prof. (Dr.) Piyush Kant Pandey, Honourable Vice Chancellor, Amity University Chhattisgarh emphasized the importance of this programme in NEP 2020. Prof. (Dr.) Veeranarayana N. K. Pandurangi, Professor and Dean, Vedanta Faculty, Karnataka Samskrit University, set the benchmark by embarking on “Indian Knowledge System and Dvaita Vedanta”. Swami Japasiddhananda, Head, Dept. of Sanskrit and Philosophy, Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Educational and Research Institute, (Deemed to be University) Belur Math, Howrah adroitly discoursed on “Dimensions of Indian Knowledge System” in an orchestrated manner. Prof. (Dr.) Krishna Mohan Pandey, Professor, Dept. of English, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, artfully calibrated on “Contemporaneity of Rasa Theory”. Prof. (Dr.) Nirmalya Narayan Chakraborty, Honourable VC of Presidency University, Kolkata and Member, Governing Body, Indian Council of Philosophical Research, New Delhi & Professor, Dept. of Philosophy, Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata deliberated on “Bharatiya Prasthanabheda” and illuminated the participants. Prof. (Dr.) Susheel Kumar Sharma, Professor, Dept of English & MEL, University of Allahabad, Prayagraj explained on “Relevance of Indian Knowledge System in the Contemporary Period”. Prof. (Dr.) Sushim Dubey, Professor & Head, Dept. of Philosophy Nava Nalanda Mahavihara, (Deemed to be University) Bihar elaborately talked about “Roots of Indian Knowledge System in the Upanishadic Tradition”. Swami Divyagunanada, Principal, Ramakrishna Mission Primary Teachers Training Institute, Rahara, Kolkata emphasised the importance of Yoga in Indian Knowledge System on the International Yoga Day. Prof. (Dr.) Sunita Agarwal, Professor and Head, Dept. of English, University of Rajasthan, Jaipur introduced the theatrical conventions and elaborated on “Theatre, Performative Art and Indian Knowledge System”. Prof. (Dr.) Siddhartha Singh, Department of English, Sri Jai Narain Post Graduate College, affiliated to University of Lucknow dilated on "The Natyashastra and the Concept of Total Theatre" with systematic elaboration. Prof. (Dr.) Basavaraj P. Donur, Professor and Head, Dept. of English, Central University of Karnataka, Kalaburagi explained on “The Moral Values in the Mahabharata: A Discourse Analysis”. Prof. (Dr) Vipin Kumar Singh, Professor, Dept. of English, Central University of South Bihar, Gaya exhumed different dimensions in his lecture on “Indian Knowledge System in Ancient India”. Prof. (Dr.) Satyananda Panda, Professor, Dept. of Psychology, Central University of Sikkim, Gangtok gave his presentation on “Indian Knowledge System and Mental Health”. Dr. Nirjharini Tripathy, Associate Professor & Head, Dept. of English Language and Literature, Central University of Odisha, Koraput explained the need to understand the ancient wisdom by dilating on “Indian Knowledge System: Transforming Self and Society”. Dr. Meenu Aggarwal Gupta, Professor, Dept. of English and Cultural Studies, Punjab University, Punjab discoursed on “Philosophy of Indian Aesthetics and Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam”. Dr. Tenzin Nyima Negi, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Sampradaya Shastra, Gelug Central Institute of Higher Tibetan Studies (Deemed to be University) Sarnath, Varanasi explained different perspectives on “Understanding the Four Noble Truths and its Relevance in the Modern World through the lens of Interdependent Origination”. The FDP had more than one hundred and thirty spontaneous and active participants. The programme was convened by Prof. (Dr.) Indrani Singh Rai, Head, Amity School of Languages, and Dean, Faculty of Arts, and co-ordinated by Dr. Shubhankar Roy and Dr. Biswajit Sarkar, Assistant Professors, Amity School of Languages. Prof. (Dr.) Piyush Kant Pandey, Honourable Vice Chancellor, Amity University Chhattisgarh congratulated the organizing team for the successful conduction of the FDP.
