CG NEWS: Free coaching for workers’ children in five districts

RAIPUR,CG: The Government of Chhattisgarh has launched a scheme for the children of construction workers where they are provided free coaching. Classes have started in 5 districts of the state namely Raipur, Durg, Bilaspur, Rajnandgaon, Dhamtari. 50-50 seats are earmarked in all these districts.

Under the scheme, children of workers will get the facility of free coaching for Public Service Commission, Vyapam (Professional exams) and Banking competitive exams. The process for admission and counselling is in progress in the districts of Korba, Mahasamund, Ambikapur, Jagdalpur, Jashpur.

State Labour Minister Lakhan Lal Dewangan said that a free coaching assistance scheme for the children of construction workers for the registered beneficiaries of Chhattisgarh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board has begun. It is to equip the children for the competitive examination.

The children of registered workers were provided free coaching for 4 to 10 months as per their educational qualification for the preparation of Public Service Commission, Chhattisgarh Professional Examination Board, Staff Selection Commission, Banking, Railways, Police Recruitment and other competitive examinations, he added.

He said to avail the benefits of the scheme, interested and eligible beneficiaries can submit online applications in person, through Choice Center or Labour Office.

If the beneficiary has died before June 09, 2020, then according to the old notification, his children are eligible for the scheme and those beneficiaries associated with the new scheme Chief Minister Construction Workers Death and Disability Assistance Scheme can also apply and avail the benefits of this scheme, minister said.

The coaching will be available online as well as offline. So that students preparing for various exams can get the option of both. Many students want to take coaching offline due to time or distance, he added.
