RAIPUR/BALOD: A passenger train going from Dallirajhara to Antagarh in Chhattisgarh collided with a banyan tree and derailed on Friday. After getting information about the incident, the Railway Department team reached the spot and engaged in rescue efforts to bring the train back on track.
Railways sources said the empty rake of the demo passenger train was going from Dallirajhara to Bhanupratappur, which was about to go to Raipur via Balod at around 6 in the morning. But, before reaching Bhanupratappur, the train collided with a banyan tree that had fallen on the railway track near Mulle Camp.
Due to the accident, the train from Bhanupratappur to Durg-Raipur has been cancelled. The front part of the train has also been damaged due to the same incident. The driver of the passenger train also suffered injuries.
