Governor applauds Divyangjan talent at ‘Divya Kala Mela’

RAIPUR,CG: Chhattisgarh Governor Ramen Deka praised the efforts of the Divyangjan, describing their performances as not only inspiring but also instrumental in bringing about positive societal change.

He emphasized the importance of such events in fostering inclusivity and raising awareness about the capabilities of differently-abled individuals.

He was addressing the concluding ceremony as chief guest of Divya Kala Mela organised at BTI ground on Thursday. The Governor lauded the extraordinary talents of the Divyangjan (differently-abled individuals) and offered words of encouragement, acknowledging their inspiring contributions.

Raipur MP Brijmohan Agrawal, MLA Purandar Mishra, NDFDC CMD Naveen Shah, Social Welfare Director  Roktima Yadav and other distinguished guests were present. Despite the challenges posed by inclement weather, the venue was filled to capacity as a large crowd gathered to witness the remarkable performances by differently-abled individuals.

During the fair, 48 differently-abled entrepreneurs from 13 states conducted business worth over Rs. 5 million, with entrepreneurs from Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal taking the lead. The event also saw active participation from various banks and government departments, including NDFDC, PNB, Union Bank, and IDBI Bank, highlighting the focus on financial empowerment and inclusion.

The highlight of the day was the ‘Divya Kala Shakti’ program, a performance previously showcased at Rashtrapati Bhavan, featuring 58 differently-abled artists from 8 states across India. The program aims to integrate differently-abled individuals into mainstream society by showcasing their artistic talents. The audience was left spellbound by the performances, which reflected the incredible potential and creativity of the artists.

The event, organized by the National Divyangjan Finance and Development Corporation (NDFDC) under the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, provided a unique platform for the citizens of Raipur to appreciate the art, music, and culture of the differently-abled, leaving a lasting impact on the community.
