RAIPUR,CG: On Janmashtami, Ayodhya witnessed a special celebration with Lord Shri Ramlala adorned in a unique yellow Khadi silk garment, woven by the skilled artisans of Bastar, Chhattisgarh, symbolizes the love, faith, and dedication of the people from the region.
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said on the auspicious occasion of Shri Krishna Janmashtami, it is a privilege for the people of Chhattisgarh to have Lord Shri Ramlala wear clothes made of Khadi silk crafted in Chhattisgarh at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi pilgrimage site. He emphasized the emotional significance of the cloth being sent from Dandakaranya, where Lord Ram spent most of his exile, highlighting the deep connection between Lord Ram and the land of Chhattisgarh.
The people of Chhattisgarh take immense pride and joy in seeing ‘Bhancha Ram’ adorned in the traditional attire from his maternal home. The garment is more than just a piece of cloth; it is a symbol of the region's rich cultural heritage, unshakable faith, and devotion to Lord Ram, he added.
Woven with devotion and affection, the yellow Khadi silk, hand-printed with genuine gold powder, reflects the rich cultural heritage of Bastar and the unique artistry of Chhattisgarh.
The sacred soil of Chhattisgarh, where Lord Ram received immense love and respect during his exile, continues to preserve the love and devotion of Mother Kaushalya for her son. Janmashtami, the first after the consecration of Lord Shri Ramlala, was celebrated with great enthusiasm in Ayodhya, with the temple adorned with colorful flowers and a variety of offerings prepared. Devotees also participated in kirtans and bhajans, making the event even more special.
