RAIPUR,CG: National Deworming Day program will start from August 29th where Albendazole medicine will be administered to children in schools and Anganwadi centres.
Raipur Collector Dr. Gaurav Singh held an inter-departmental meeting in the Red Cross meeting room located in the Collectorate premises and asked the District Education Officer to ensure that 100 percent of the children are given Albendazole medicine.
Besides, the Women and Child Development Department was asked to feed deworming medicines to registered, unregistered children and school dropouts in Anganwadi centres.
He said that the children should get Albendazole medicine in good condition. Take special care that no child is left out of medication. Instructions were also given to monitor it.
The Deworming Day program is celebrated twice a year at an interval of six months, in the months of February and August. In which children aged 1 to 19 years will be fed the medicine Albendazole in prescribed dosage in schools and Anganwadi centres, Kendriya Vidyalayas, Navodaya Vidyalayas, Madrasas, private schools, aided schools, colleges and technical education institutes. Also, the missing children will be given medicine on September 4.
