RAIPUR,CG: The Election Commission of India has released the schedule for a special brief revision of electoral rolls containing photographs for the state of Chhattisgarh, with the final voter list set to be published on January 6, 2025.
The revision program, which is crucial for ensuring accurate voter registration, will have January 1, 2025, as the qualifying date.
The initial revision of the voter list will be conducted on October 29, 2024, across all polling stations in the state. On the day, the preliminary voter list will be published, and the process for receiving claims and objections will commence, continuing until November 28. Special camps for citizens to submit their claims or objections will be held at polling centres on November 9, 10, 16, and 17, 2024.
During this period, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will conduct a door-to-door verification (H2H Survey) to update the voter rolls, including the removal of names of deceased or permanently transferred voters and correction of erroneous entries. The survey will be completed by October 18, 2024.
Young citizens who will turn 18 by January 1, 2025, can apply to have their names added to the voter list using Form-6. Forms for the deletion of names (Form-7) and for corrections or transfers (Form-8) will also be available. Applications can be submitted either in person through the BLOs or online via the 'Voter Helpline App' or the Election Commission's website.
The Election Commission has also introduced additional opportunities for new voters to register on April 1, July 1, and October 1, 2025. For any assistance or to file a complaint related to voter registration, citizens can contact the state-level helpline at 180023311950.
