RAIPUR,CG: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai conducted an inspection on Thursday of the ongoing construction at the 'Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Tribal Freedom Fighter Museum' located near the Tribal Research and Training Institute in Nava Raipur. The museum, dedicated to the brave tribal freedom fighters of Chhattisgarh, is being built on approximately 10 acres of land with a budget of Rs 45 crore.
Accompanied by Tribal Development Minister Ramvichar Netam, the Chief Minister reviewed the progress of the museum's development, including the statues, artefacts, and various models that will be featured. During the visit, he engaged in discussions with the craftsmen responsible for creating the statues, seeking insights into their artistic processes.
The Chief Minister emphasized that the Tribal Museum will stand as a significant symbol of Chhattisgarh's tribal pride. He highlighted the museum's focus on the patriotism, bravery, and sacrifices of the state's tribal freedom fighters, calling it a unique effort to preserve Chhattisgarh's rich heritage. Sai asked the departmental officers and the construction agency's representatives to ensure the work is completed with the highest quality standards and within the designated time frame.
He further noted that the museum would provide the younger and future generations an opportunity to connect with their history. Additionally, it is expected to become a key attraction for those interested in tribal culture and civilization, offering a closer look at the lives and contributions of all tribal freedom fighters from the state, including Chhattisgarh's first freedom fighter, Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh.
Sonmani Borah, Principal Secretary of the Tribal and Scheduled Caste Development Department, shared that the museum will feature 15 galleries. These galleries will depict significant events from Chhattisgarh's tribal freedom struggles, including the Halba rebellion, Surguja rebellion, Bhopal-Patnam rebellion, Paralkot rebellion, Lingagiri rebellion, Koi rebellion, Meriya rebellion, Muria rebellion, Rani-Cho-Ris rebellion, Bhumkal rebellion, Sonakhan rebellion, Jhanda Satyagraha, and Jungle Satyagraha. These events will be brought to life through realistic models.
The museum will also showcase the daily life of Chhattisgarh's tribal communities, displaying their clothing, jewelry, musical instruments, hunting weapons, and other cultural artifacts within their authentic environment.
