Korba gets IC-3 centre for crime prevention

KORBA,CG,INDIA: The Integrated Command and Control Center (IC-3), designed for crime prevention and investigation, was inaugurated at the Superintendent of Police office in Korba on Monday. The center was launched by Commerce, Industry, and Labor Minister Lakhan Lal Dewangan with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Minister Dewangan emphasized the importance of the IC-3 system for public safety, stating that it allows for effective monitoring through cameras placed throughout the city. He highlighted its usefulness not only in crime control but also during disasters. The system is expected to enhance the management of traffic and other civic functions through specialized cameras installed across Korba.

The minister asked Collector Ajit Vasant and Superintendent of Police Siddharth Tiwari to survey roads connecting city wards to main roads and install additional cameras in those areas to strengthen surveillance.

The IC-3 will enable police to monitor key intersections across Korba using a total of 336 CCTV cameras. Six zones have been designated for surveillance, covering Kosabadi, TP Nagar, Korba, Darri, Balco, and Sarvamangala. These cameras, including ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) systems, will help in identifying vehicles and tracking criminal activities, especially during the upcoming festival season.

The Integrated Command and Control Centre is also equipped with cyber forensic tools to aid in cybercrime investigations. These tools include mobile forensic software, image and video forensic tools, CDR analysis systems, and data analysis software, providing essential support to the police in solving complex cybercrimes.

In a related initiative, Korba Police introduced four Cheetah Squads as a pilot project. These bike patrolling units will focus on crime prevention in areas under the jurisdiction of Kotwali, Civil Line Rampur, Darri, and Manikpur police stations. The Cheetah Squads were flagged off by the minister, marking the beginning of intensified patrolling efforts in the city’s streets.

Additionally, traffic awareness initiatives were launched, with e-rickshaws and auto-rickshaws displaying posters and stepney covers promoting adherence to traffic rules. To conclude the event, the guests planted a tree as part of the "One Tree in the Name of Mother" initiative in the Superintendent of Police office premises.
