RAIPUR,CG,INDIA: The Chhattisgarh Chamber of Commerce and Industries (CCCI) on Tuesday celebrated Chamber President Amar Parwani’s birthday, coinciding with the “Chamber Membership Day” and the “Chamber Unit Honour Ceremony” on the theme “From Pride to Glory” at Chowdhary Devi Lal Vyapar Udyog Bhawan, Raipur. It was marked by significant achievements, including the Chamber's inclusion in the Golden Book of World Records.
The Chamber released its personalized postage stamp, “My Stamp,” commemorating the achievement, a proud moment for the state’s business community. The ceremony saw the presence of Raipur North MLA Purandar Mishra, along with key Chamber officials.
General Secretary Ajay Bhasin highlighted the celebratory atmosphere where Parwani's birthday has been celebrated as Membership Day, with this year including an honours ceremony for outstanding Chamber units across the state, who received mementos, certificates, and membership pride cards.
Under Parwani's leadership, the Chamber reached a historic milestone with over 11,000 members added during his tenure, leading to its inclusion in the Golden Book of World Records. The achievement was recognized by Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, who honoured Parwani and his team with a memento and medal.
During the event, Bhasin praised Parwani’s contributions to the welfare of the state's 12 lakh traders. Parwani has been recognized nationally, receiving honors such as "Vyapar Shiromani" from Union Minister Smriti Irani and being appointed to the National Traders Welfare Board. Bhasin also detailed the Chamber’s progress under Parwani, noting that membership has now surpassed 27,000, with 43 active units in 33 districts.
Bhasin outlined the Chamber’s efforts in GST amendments, strengthening trader units, and developing ideal markets. He also emphasized the Chamber's achievements over the last three years, particularly its coordination with government bodies during the COVID-19 pandemic, and the successful resolution of traders' demands on issues like mandi fees and industrial rents. The Chamber also secured government approval for converting leasehold lands and shops into freehold, benefiting the state’s traders.
The event marked a high point for the Chamber, celebrating both its business accomplishments and social contributions.
