Three-day Bhoramdev Butterfly Conference today

KAWARDHA,CG,INDIA: Bhoramdev Butterfly Conference is being organized for the first time in Kabirdham district. It will start on September 27th from PG College Auditorium.

A photo exhibition of different species of butterflies will also be organized by the Forest Department. Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma will attend the inauguration program of Bhoramdev Butterfly Conference as the chief guest. The program will be presided over by Minister of Forest and Climate Change, Water Resources, Skill Development, Cooperative Department and Parliamentary Affairs Department, Kedar Kashyap, special guest are MP Santosh Pandey, Pandaria MLA Bhavana Bohra and others.

Divisional Forest Officer, Kabirdham Shashi Kumar said that bird survey was organized for the first time under Bhoramdeo Sanctuary in June 2024. The bird survey conducted was appreciated by all the participants from different states across the country. Encouraged by it, the team of Bhoramdeo Sanctuary is organizing a butterfly survey on September from 28th to 29th.

He said that after the beginning of the rainy season, Bhoramdeo Sanctuary becomes described as the world of butterflies and there is abundant nectar and host plants available for butterflies which provide important contribution to their life cycle. He said that more than 120 species of butterflies are found in the sanctuary. The rare Orange Eclipse is found under Bhoramdeo Sanctuary. Attracted by it, many butterfly lovers keep coming to Bhoramdeo Sanctuary for photography.
