RAIPUR,CG,BHARAT: To review the paddy procurement arrangements, Additional Chief Secretary of the Food Department, Richa Sharma, visited procurement centres in the Abhanpur district. She inspected the centres in Kendri and Pipraud villages, engaging with farmers to gather feedback and urging them to report any issues to the administration.
During her visit, Sharma reviewed the paddy purchasing process using electronic scales and biometric systems. She emphasized that all farmers should have biometric verification and instructed staff to use alternative methods if the server is down. She also checked the availability of gunny bags, directing that adequate stock should be maintained as paddy is procured.
Sharma stressed the importance of purchasing only from registered farmers, ensuring timely payments within 72 hours as per government policy, and maintaining transparency in the process. She recommended displaying toll-free numbers at each center for farmer assistance. Additional Collector Kirtiman Rathore, Food Controller Bhupendra Mishra, District Cooperative Bank CEO Apeksha Vyas, and other officials were present.
