RAIPUR,CG,BHARAT: The Finance Department has approved an increase in the maximum income limit for dependents of government employees, raising it from ₹3,050 per month to ₹7,750 per month. The change ensures economic and social security for dependents, making more families eligible for family pension benefits.
The revision addresses a long-standing issue, as the income cap for dependents had remained unchanged since 2014. Over the years, wages in the state have increased significantly, with semi-skilled workers now earning an average of ₹10,900 per month. Previously, families whose dependents earned slightly above the ₹3,050 threshold were excluded from family pension benefits, leading to financial challenges.
The updated income limit aims to provide much-needed relief to families relying on the family pension after the death of a government employee. The decision is expected to positively impact the lives of dependents by ensuring greater financial stability and support.
